Sims, Bradley Make Play of the Day

Some morning musings from training camp in Lehigh Wednesday:

The play of the day was during contact drills when LBs Ernie Sims and Stewart Bradley sandwiched Eldra Buckley when he tried to grab the ball over the middle. Buckley went down, his helmet went flying and the fans went wild. Luckily Buckley said he was OK as he left the practice field and that he had no beef with his hard-hitting teammates.

The other time you could really hear Eagles fans was when David Akers boomed a few 50-plus yard field goals in a row during kicking drills.

Also, some big plays by the wideouts: Riley Cooper showed an eye for the ball  -- catching a deflected Kevin Kolb pass during contact drills. Hank Baskett made a nice over the shoulder basket catch from Kolb as well.

And, 5-foot-8 wideout Chad Hall is continuing to make people notice him despite his small size by catching anything that comes his way. It should be interesting to see if the Birds find a spot for “Air Force One” on their roster.

Finally gotta love the passion of Brent Celek. The Eagles tight end was getting on the refs after a possible pass interference penalty went uncalled -- looks like Celek could already be in mid-season form with the zebras.
