Eagles Ship Out Fokou, Lloyd

Eagles trade LBs Fokou, Lloyd to Colts for CB, pick

For a team not none for linebacker depth, the Eagles made an interesting move Thursday as they sent two young linebackers to the Colts for a cornerback and conditional seventh-round draft pick.

The Eagles sent linebackers Moise Fokou and Greg Lloyd to Indianapolis for cornerback Kevin Thomas and the 2013 conditional pick.

Thomas, a third-round pick in 2010, played in nine games last season with the Colts, starting five. He had 33 tackles and three knockdowns. Thomas spent his rookies season on injured reserve because of a knee injury.

Fokou started 22 games in three seasons with the Eagles. Lloyd spent most of his rookie season on the practice squad last year and was inactive for the last five games. Fokou and Lloyd were both seventh-round picks by Philadelphia.

The Eagles could afford to lose a couple linebackers thanks to new found depth at the position. This offseason they traded for DeMeco Ryans and drafted Mychal Kendricks in the second round of the draft.
