Our experts expect a big game from Michael Vick against the Cowboys.
Coming off the Bye Week our NBC10 group of football picking experts are ready to pick the winner as the Eagles host the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football on NBC.
So far this season our experts as a whole have posted a 3-3 record that is better than the Birds’ 2-4 mark that they bring into the NFC East showdown against the 3-3 Cowboys.
This week 88 percent of our “experts” have the Birds beating the Boys.
Sports reporter John Clark sees the Eagles squeezing by 24-23. The same score Birds Nest blogger Drew Magary has the Birds winning by.
“These games are impossible to pick because it usually comes down to who screws up the most: Tony Romo or Andy Reid,” said Drew. “This is just the kind of big primetime game where both men decide to open up their carotid arteries for all the world to see. How can you possibly decide who will be dumber? THEY'RE BOTH SO GOOD AT BEING DUMB. I dunno. I'll let the home field swing it.”
News anchor Tim Lake and reporter Tim Furlong also see Romo’s history of messing up playing a role in the final score.
Eagles 21-10. “Romo will mess it up again and finally it’s Mike Vick’s turn to shine again,” Lake said.
Furlong has it 24-21 thanks to a pumped up crowd and Romo being a “choke as normal.” (Tim was the closest to picking the Eagles 20-13 win over the Redskins two weeks ago.)
Desk guy Franco all sees it close as the Eagles win 27-24.
“Eagles will surprise some people with how well they stop the run. Demarco Murray will stay under 100 total yards. And Asante Samuel will come up with a turnover -- a little stab at the Eagles after the trade rumors. Vick Rushes for a TD and LeSean McCoy continues his hot steak.”
As for me, I see this as a 34-20 Eagles win. Reid is so good after the bye and with his whole team healthy for the first time in a while the Eagles talent, which despite their record is amongst some of the best in the NFL, will shine. Expect a big game from DeSean Jackson.
Fellow Birds Nest blogger Brian Solomon sees a 20-17 Eagles win because “I never pick against Reid after the bye.”
Of course not everyone likes the Birds to beat the Boys.
Sales guy Corey (who has picked against the Birds more than anyone else so far this season) has it 31-24 Boys.
“This should be a game with plenty of offense as The Eagles, fresh off their buy week, will try to game plan against a Dallas Defense which is tops in the league against the run and should provide a tough test for McCoy. And The Cowboys new RB weapon Murray is likely salivating at the prospect of picking up where he left off last week with his 253 yard game.”
How about you out there -- will the Eagles beat the Boys or will their terrible “dream” season continue to play out like a nightmare?
