Cole, Peters Lead Eagles Inactives

The injury bug quickly caught up to the 1-3 Eagles as they took the field without a number of important linemen Sunday in Buffalo.

DT Antonio Dixon was already placed on IR with a season-ending triceps injury but fellow lineman Trent Cole was also ruled out with a calf injury. Cole leaves a huge hole on the defensive line -- he is third on the team with three sacks and fourth with 14 tackles.

Joining Cole on the inactive list was fellow Pro Bowler OT Jason Peters who suffered a hamstring injury in the Eagles’ Week 4 loss to the 49ers.

Darryl Tapp back from a pectoral injury that landed him on the inactive list the past few weeks will start for Cole while King Dunlap fresh out a blocked field goal last week starts for Peters at left tackle.

Joining Peters on the inactive list are former starting OG Kyle DeVan and rookie OG Julian Vandervelde who has yet to suit up for the Eagles.

Another rookie who has yet to suit up is third-rounder CB Curtis Marsh and joining Marsh for the fourth time on the inactive list is second-round pick S Jaiquawn Jarrett.

The most surprising name on the inactive list this week though was back up QB Mike Kafka. The Eagles will be going with Vince Young should Mike Vick need to leave the Bills game.

Protecting Vick will be No. 1 pick Danny Watkins who starts at right guard in place of DeVan. It will be Watkins first career start after being inactive three of the first four weeks of the season.

The Bills inactive list is headlined by starting LT Demetrius Bell who is out with a shoulder injury. Other notable Bills out with injuries are Chris Kelsay (calf), DB Aaron Williams (chest) and DT Torell Troup (back). OT Colin Brown, CB Terrence Wheatley and LB Chris White rounded out the Bills inactive list.
