Jarrett Active, Watkins Out for Niners Game

One of the Eagles' top picks from this year’s draft will be active for the first time while their No. 1 pick yet again takes a seat as the Eagles play the 49ers Sunday.

S Jaiquawn Jarrett, the Eagles second-round pick (54th overall) out of Temple, was active as the 1-2 Eagles tried to upend the 2-1 49ers. Jarrett should see work on special teams -- taking the spot of CB Brandon Hughes who is out with a hamstring injury. The rookie safety could also add some depth in the defensive backfield middle that was exposed last week against the Giants.

While Jarrett suited up, No. 1 pick Danny Watkins once again took a seat. The guard has yet to find the field after being taken No. 23 overall in the draft.

Joining Watkins on the inactive list were fellow rookies G Julian Vandervelde and CB Curtis Marsh as well as injured veterans DE Juqua Parker (ankle) and Darryl Tapp (pectoral). T Winston Justice was also ruled inactive.

For San Fran RB Frank Gore was active despite an ankle injury same can be said for WR Michael Crabtree who was in uniform despite an ongoing foot issue. Gore should still be splitting carries with Kendall Hunter.

As for the Niners who weren’t suiting up -- WR Braylon Edwards, DL Demarcus Dobbs, OL Daniel Kilgore, FB Moran Norris, OT Mike Person, QB Scott Tolzien and DL Ian Williams were inactive.
