No Asante Again for Eagles

The Eagles were be short a ball-hawk again Thursday night when they faced the Houston Texans.

CB Asante Samuel missed his second-straight game with a knee injury.

Joselio Hanson started in Samuel’s place but would likely struggle to replace him. The Eagles secondary was torched for four pass TDs last week in a 26-31 loss to the Bears -- the Eagles desperately missed Samuel's league-leading seven interceptions.

Joining Samuel on the inactive list for the Birds were injured WR Riley Cooper, T Austin Howard, G Reggie Wells, TE Garrett Mills, injured DE Juqua Parker, CB Brandon Hughes and third-string QB Mike Kafka.

Really no surprises there except there was hope that Cooper and possibly Parker could return from injuries in time to face Houston.

WR Chad Hall will step in for Cooper as the fourth wideout and rookie DE Brandon Graham will once again fill in for Parker.

Injured TE Owen Daniels headlined the Texans inactive list again. He is joined by TE Anthony Hill, WR Dorin Dickerson, DL Jesse Nading, G Kasey Studdard, G Shelley Smith, LB Xavier Adibi and third-string QB Matt Leinart.
