'Bon Appetite''s list includes restaurants from across the U.S.

When Bon Appetite named the 10 best seafood restaurants in the U.S., the magazine looked a little bit off the beaten trail in Philadelphia.

We’re accustomed to restaurants like Devon Seafood Grill and McCormick and Schmick’s getting praise for their under-the-sea offerings, but this time, Bella Vista’s Little Fish (600 Catherine St.) took the honors.

The cozy corner BYO is often overlooked. But, citing dishes like chef-owner Michael Stollenwerk’s delectable halibut with English pea spaetzle and scallop nage, Bon Appetite sees an end to that in the restaurant’s future.

Little Fish placed third in the rankings, which appear in Bon Appetite’s December 2008 issue.
