Philly Store Feeling the β€œill” Effects of the Fightin's

Search for t-shirt hitting feverous pitch

Feverish Phillies fans want to let everybody know they're "ill."

Ever since NBC Philadelphia reporter Justin Pizzi wore a red Phillies t-shirt with the word β€œill” across the front during a live shot on Wednesday, viewers have been banging down our doors looking for where they can find it.

For those unfamiliar with hip hop terminology, it has nothing to do with swine flu. Pizzi, being the stylish man that he is, found the tee at the ultra hip Ubiq at 15th and Walnut in Center City.

The sneaker and clothing store, which has another location on 10th and Market, debuted the β€œill” shirt during last year’s playoff run in white and burgundy colors and an old school Phillies font.

This year, the colors are royal blue, red, burgundy, and black with an updated font that includes the Phil's signature star serving as the dot for the β€œi.”

The demand for the shirt, which sells for $12, has been hot -- selling out three days after its debut. The store will release a new Phillies t-shirt Monday, with β€œ2-Peat!” on the front.

With the popularity of their t-shirts soaring, expect Ubiq to come up with more specialized Phillies clothing as the team’s run continues.

In addition to the two store locations, you can also buy the shirts as well as a wide selection of sneakers, clothing, backpacks, and fitted caps at the store's website.
