The Bellevue

It's been less than a year since Rick's Steaks served its last cheesesteak at the historic Reading Terminal Market, following a very contentious (and very public) battle with market management, but as of Monday, June 15, Rick's is back in business. Now you can find owner Rick Olivieri slinging cheesesteaks in another historic building--the Bellevue on Broad and Walnut Streets.

Rick's, located in the building's subterranean food court, now serves an expanded menu with breakfast items like pepper, egg and cheese sandwiches, plus a new "Phila-BUSTER" steak sandwich, which is a double order of "The Works" (provolone, mushrooms, sweet peppers). Order it if you dare--or if you don't mind spending $12 on a glorified cheesesteak.

While the steaks will be sizzling on the grill on Monday, Olivieri is planning an official grand opening party on Thursday, June 25 with music by local rocker Ken Kweder. Reportedly, both Governor Rendell and Al Roker are scheduled to make an appearance and, undoubtedly, eat a cheesesteak or two.
