Let the Good Times Roll

Fat Tuesday at Reading Terminal

A little bit of New Orleans is coming to the Reading Terminal Market Tuesday, Feb. 16 -- because it's Fat Tuesday!

A parade will kick off the Fat Tuesday celebration starting at 11 a.m.

The free party will continue in true Mardi Gras-style complete with that sweet New Orleans jazz and all the Louisiana cookin' you can stomach provided by Beck’s Cajun Café. They'll be serving up favorites like jambalaya, mufaletta and gumbo.

Plus, all proceeds earned from the sales of the gumbo will be donated to the New Orleans area Habitat for Humanity, helping displaced victims of Hurricane Katrina

Stick around for the King Cake cutting. Tradition says that when the cake is cut, whoever finds the porcelain or plastic baby that was baked inside will host the next party and be crowned king for the day.

King for the day? We like that idea.

“Get ready, it’s going to be a great party,” said Chef Beck, owner of Beck’s Cajun Café. “Everyone should come and enjoy this taste of New Orleans right here in our own backyard. As they say in New Orleans, ‘Laissez les bon temps roulez’!"

In English? Let the good times roll.
