Get On the Greens--Free!

Attention all golfers: You’re going to want to check this out. A FREE chip and putt course in Upper Macungie Township in Independence Park just recently opened.
The new nine-hole course is definitely not for those pros looking for a challenge. But if you are looking for a relaxing day on the greens minus the fees this course is perfect for you.
The free course is a part of Upper Macungie Township’s desire to create parklands for their growing population.
As of now, there are ten parks that are open or are almost completed in the township.
Other than the new golf course, there are baseball/softball fields, volleyball and basketball courts, as well as playgrounds.
The anticipated course was originally a residential area that the township bought for over $1 million dollars. But the chip and putt only ran them about $2,700 to build.
So grab a club and some friends for a sunny day on the greens. The course is located in Independence Park off Route 863 in Upper Macungie Township.
